Jump in—the water’s fine! Splash Lagoon, an indoor water park resort, is the perfect destination for your family getaway. This nationally acclaimed water park in the northwestern Pennsylvania town of Erie features seven slides, a 5-story interactive tree house, a 200,000-gallon wave pool, and, thanks to a recent $3.5-million expansion, new features like the FlowRider Indoor Surf Machine.

Go Surfin’ at the FlowRider

Grab your board and hit the waves at Splash Lagoon’s newest attraction, the FlowRider. This indoor surf machine is perfect for beginners and pros alike.

With a surf instructor on hand, you’ll start off kneeling on a bodyboard to learn the basics of balance and maneuvering, and then move on to tricks like spins and flips. Advance to the all-new flowboard for your chance to stand and surf this featured attraction.

FlowRider access is included with the cost of admission to Splash Lagoon, and be sure to ask about getaway savings by booking an overnight package.

Bonus: Spectators can watch friends and family hit the waves from the brand-new balcony seating area and bar overlooking the FlowRider coming later this winter.

The park’s seven slides include the Black Hole, a pitch-black tube slide; the twisting, turning Big Kahuna raft slide; and the Hurricane Hole body slide, in which you can reach speeds of up to 40 mph. Jump the waves at the 200,000-gallon Wild Waters Wave Pool. The waves in this indoor pool can reach up to 6 feet, ensuring fun for all ages. Looking for a little more relaxation? Grab a float and cruise down the Lazy River. And don’t forget about the Tiki Tree House. This 5-story attraction, filled with spray guns, tip buckets, and more, is a park favorite.

Once you’ve explored all of Splash Lagoon’s water features, towel off to climb the Tree Tops Indoor Ropes Course, which features 19 different challenges, or spend time gaming at the Treasure Island Arcade (you have to try the Hologate virtual reality headsets).

At the end of the day, retire to one of Splash Lagoon’s three connected hotels and 3 partner hotels—be sure to ask about overnight packages.
