Batch Microcreamery offers handcrafted, small batch ice cream made on site. Offering thirty two flavors of ice cream including traditional favorites like Madagascar Vanilla, Chocolate, Cookies N' Cream, Mint Chip and Cold Brew. They also offer a wide variety of delicious and unique rotating flavors. When deciding on one flavor becomes difficult, the Batch flight board allows customers to experience four of their favorite flavors in one sitting. Batch is located at the Promenade Saucon Valley across from the AMC movie theater and Red Robin restaurant.

2. Brandy Camp Creamery

Brandy Camp Creamery specializes in producing homemade, premium ice cream produced with dairy from Pennsylvania farms. Offering 16 flavors at all times including chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and peanut butter in addition to a variety of other fun flavors. Some of the local favorites include the famous coconut mountain, unicorn valley, nerdy dragon, and blueberry cheesecake. And for the chocolate lovers, they offer a signature line of flavors made exclusively with Dan Smith Candies which is the local chocolatier based out of Brookville, PA.

In a quaint farm store, they offer handmade ice cream in rotating, seasonal flavors using milk from the seven dairy cows on their farm. They also sell other local, farm-fresh products, including milk, yogurt, cheese, eggs, bread and more. The multifaceted agricultural education facility offers farm tours, summer camps, on-farm birthday parties, and more! As you enjoy your ice cream, relax in picnic tables on the farm overlooking the pastures and animals. If you’re interested in taking a full farm tour while you’re there, please call ahead to schedule. 

Know before you go: Ice cream is available in pre-scooped containers in the freezer with spoons and cones available for you to enjoy while you sit outside on their beautiful property. The farm also includes portable bathrooms.

15. Fox Meadows Creamery - Ephrata

God's Country Creamery ice cream is made fresh on the family farm. The ice cream is available in cups, pints, and quarts.  Cow Pie, Cow Mash, Dough Bro, Mint Mash, Raspberry Cheesecake are just some of the classic flavors that are available regularly. They offer over 30 different flavors at one time, rotating through 90 different varieties that they make throughout the year such as Strawberry Rhubarb, Blue and White, Peach Cobbler, Caramel Apple, etc. They take pleasure in creating small batches of ice cream that people can enjoy right on the family farm.

Know before you go: Trail users should know that God's Country Creamery is a self-serve business - there is no scooping of ice cream. Trail visitors should look for a stand-up freezer where ice cream in cups, pints, and quarts can be found with the pin code on the bottom. Spoons are located on the check-out stand. God's Country Creamery only accepts cash and Venmo. For the most accurate directions to God’s Country Creamery, please use Google Maps.

18. Greco’s Italian Ices and Homemade Ice Cream - Lititz

By handcrafting the ice cream in Lititz and selling it at the Kleine Lane storefront, it eliminates the need for third-party vendors- making Greco's 100% family-owned and operated!

Know before you go: Trail visitors should know that there are six steps down to the basement where Greco's is located. Greco's staff is happy to provide service on their outdoor patio for those who cannot make it down the stairs.

We still use our original recipes and our shakes, sundaes, and splits are still served in glass dishes in our ice cream parlor.

24. Kerber’s Dairy

KERBER’S, a family owned and operated dairy store, sits on the last parcel of the family’s original dairy farm. It is located between Greensburg and Pittsburgh and 4 miles west of PA Turnpike Exit 57. Ice Cream has become its best-known and most requested product. On any given day, about 40 different flavors are available. In a year’s time, Tom Kerber, Jr makes over 165 different flavors, depending on the season. Featured this Spring – Banana Crème Pie, banana ice cream with Marshmallow Swirl and graham crackers. Besides cones and cups, our ice cream is served in Sundaes, Banana Splits, and in Milk Shakes which you can enjoy in our covered patio, at the picnic tables, or inside in our restaurant section. Kerber’s is an agritourism facility and includes a playground and an 18-hole mini-golf course.

25. Klein Farms Dairy and Creamery

Maple Bottom Farm is located on a dead end road in Dawson, PA , just minutes from Scottdale and Connellsville, and less than an hour from Pittsburgh. Guests can enjoy a farm-stay in their updated Farmhouse, beautiful flower fields, and a farm tour. New this year, Maple Bottom Farm is offering hand-crafted ice cream made with milk from cows on their farm. The ice cream will be featured in their “Red Shed,” which is located directly on their farm and is open 24/7, 365 days a year. Stop anytime for self service of the freshest ice cream and farm products they have to offer, including: milk, cheese, butter, cream, yogurt, meat, and eggs! 35. Merrymead Farm

Located in the heart of Montgomery County, Merrymead Farm is one of Pennsylvania’s Century Farms; opening its doors to the public in July 1971. With their own herd of Holsteins, The Rothenberger family proudly produce & process milk on-site and are known for their creamy chocolate milk! Now managed by the third and fourth generations, the Farm Market has grown over the years and is open year round selling delicious baked goods from their country bakery, seasonal items in the outside market, and premium homemade ice cream!

36. Mitch-Hill Dairy Farm and Creamery

If you’re looking for an ice cream adventure off the beaten path, check out Mitch-Hill Dairy Farm and Creamery.  Using milk from their own herd of dairy cows, they offer pre-scooped, hand-crafted ice cream in a variety of flavors in a farm store that’s located right on their family dairy farm. Their store also includes farm-fresh milk in fun flavors like brownie batter, ice cream pies, ice cream sandwiches, single-serve ice cream cakes and more!  At certain points throughout the summer, their ice cream trailer will scoop up specialty items like milkshakes, sundaes and more – follow them on social media for specific days and hours for the trailer. Their goal is to serve local, wholesome dairy products to their community, and nothing beats a fresh bowl of ice cream while overlooking the cows in their pastures.

Know before you go: Their farm store is self-serve and cash only. Ice cream is available in pre-scooped containers in the freezer. To help you plan your adventure & dress and drive accordingly, their farm store is located off the beaten path up a long farm lane with limited parking and uneven terrain. There will be a portable toilet available at the end of May and will be there all season.

37. Nittany Valley Creamery

Nittany Valley Creamery serves up farm-fresh ice cream and ice cream treats from its charming Dairy Barn store. The creamery offers a large selection of ice cream, hand-dipped cones, milkshakes and sundaes.The freezer is well-stocked with pints, quarts and three-gallon containers of ice cream, along with ice cream whoopie pies and custom-made ice cream cakes. The Dairy Barn features indoor and outdoor seating.

Know before you go: This Amish family farm and creamery only accept payment in cash or check.

Located in a restored, 190-year-old mill in Mifflinburg, Old Mill Creamery is known for their creamy, hand-crafted ice cream made with milk from their family’s dairy farm – located less than a mile from the creamery! Come with the family, and enjoy your ice cream inside the creamery (where the ice cream is made on-site in the historic mill) or outside in the picnic area that’s situated along a creek.

Penn Gold Ice Cream opened its doors for the first time in 1928 by Jay Hughes. Since then, Penn Gold has stayed in the same ‘Hughes’ family, passing the torch down from generation to generation. After Jay’s passing, he handed the store over to his son, Marcel. Marcel ran the store for many years with his wife, Pearl, before eventually passing the store to their son, Gary. Gary and his wife, Mary Ann, worked together for 30+ years to keep the tradition going before Gary’s unexpected passing in 2024. Penn Gold is now operating in its fourth generation by Gary and Mary Ann’s daughter, Nicole, and her family (Matt & Jackson Shaffer). Nicole is the first female to own and operate the business and plans to take it well beyond 100 years in business. Penn Gold continues to deliver homemade, high quality ice cream to the small community of Harrisville and beyond.

42. Perrydell Farm and Dairy

Perrydell Farm and Dairy is a century family farm that is currently run by its third and fourth generation. After milking 120 cows we bottle the milk and make our own ice cream mix with our fresh milk and cream in our onsite processing plant. The mix is then churned into over 250 revolving flavors of ice cream that we sell here in our farm store. You can enjoy our hand dipped ice cream in a cone, or in a milkshake, float, or sundae. If you’re in a hurry and don’t want to stand in line, we have grab and go prepackaged ice cream in half gallon, pints, and individual cup sizes. We also have handmade ice cream sandwiches, orange cream popsicles and rainbow sherbert push pops. There’s something for everyone! Don’t forget to stop by and pet the calves before you leave.”

The Ritchey family has been churning out delicious ice cream and other dairy products for more than 80 years, purchasing milk from local dairy farms. The family-owned processing plant and dairy store have grown in scope and business over the years, with a complete remodel of the ice cream production area in 2016. In addition to its year-round flavors, Ritchey’s Dairy offers seasonal and holiday flavors as well as Dixie cup varieties. The store’s ice cream cakes are a local favorite, as is the chocolate milk.

Way-Har Farm Market is a third-generation, family-owned business that has been retailing its milk and ice cream for over 50 years. In 1970, the Lesher family opened the farm market as a retail dairy store to sell milk directly from their cows.
