In the Soft Light brings together four artists who explore the masculine through the soft light of photography and sculpture. Each artist delves into the physical and emotional closeness between men, finding softness and lightness while challenging traditional conceptions of masculinity. Photographers Thomas W. Moore, German Ayala Vazquez, and Robert Carter, along with sculptor Michael Biello, examine intimacy and the body through the lens of sexual dissidence.

Join us as we welcome the Marquis de Lafayette with fanfare and celebration, partnering with “The American Friends of Lafayette” who are re-creating the bicentennial of Lafayette’s exact step-by-step farewell tour through America from August 1824 through September 1825. In 1824, American Revolutionary War hero the Marquis de Lafayette visited the United States of America for a Grand Tour of all 24 states. Join public historian Elizabeth M. Reese in a lecture following Lafayette’s tour, highlighting the important people, events, and legacy of America’s favorite fighting Frenchman. Elizabeth M. Reese is a historian in the Washington, DC area, and has spent over a decade as an interpreter at historic sites on the East Coast. Her work has also appeared in TIME, the New York Times, and C-SPAN.

Step into the shoes of an archaeologist and excavate a mock dig site, uncover artifacts, and learn about past civilizations. Uncover, reconstruct and study artifacts and learn to use archaelogical tools as we dig into history! From the structured shapes of Cubism to the soft brushstrokes of Impressionism, dive deep into art movements from throughout history and create your own masterpieces. Campers will discover design principles like color, shape, and spacing through hands-on art projects and then display their works in our very own LCM Gallery. Spend every day in a different age of history. Visit ancient Greece, the Vikings, Imperial China, the Mayan Empire, and the Renaissance all in one week! This camp is a drop-off camp and is recommended for children ages 6-11 (kindergarten completion required). Non-member: $150; Member: $135.

Calling all little artists! Let’s get creative! In this art class, children will explore a variety of different mediums and materials through a hands-on, process-based art experience and exploration. This camp is recommended for children ages 3-5 years old and their caregivers. Non-member: $50; Member: $45.

Get ready for Kindergarten! During this week-long camp, children will explore STEAM-based activities. Students will build school readiness and confidence prior to entering Kindergarten in the fall. Camp curriculum and activities to be facilitated by former local educators. This camp is recommended for preschoolers entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2025 and is a drop off camp.
