The Midtown Scholar Bookstore is honored to welcome Former Commander of the United States Army Europe Ben Hodges for a conversation and signing on his new book, Future War and the Defence of Europe. Hodges will be in conversation with Professor of History and Chair of War Studies at the Army War College, Michael Neiberg. This event is in partnership with the Foreign Policy Association of Central Pennsylvania. Hodges and Neiberg will discuss how peace can be maintained in Europe, as well as the role of history, strategy, policy, and technology play in its future security.

This event is perfect for art enthusiasts and beer lovers alike! Who said a Dutch Golden Age painting and beer don't go together? Please note that this event is for demonstration purchases only. We do not give out samples of the beer. Admission is purchased at the door.

The Army Heritage and Education Center, Carlisle PA is proud to offer a one-day fun summer educational experience on the Army Heritage Trail at the U.S. Army Heritage & Education Center on July 20th. Living History interpreters representing different time periods in American history will be onsite throughout the trail from 10am- 2pm telling the story of the US Army, one soldier at a time. This is a FREE family-friendly program. The gift shop and all of our air-conditioned indoor exhibits will be open, as well. HIGHTLIGHTS  5 different time periods of American military history represented.

In its 8th year, Uptown Chalk the Block is Western Pennsylvanias first chalk festival. What started as an ode to classic sidewalk chalk, lemonade, and barefoot nostalgia has transformed into an event that will host some of the most incredible artists from all over the country - and world. In 2024, Somerset, Inc., Somerset's Main Street Program, will bring in 21 professional street painting artists, 1 professional muralist, plein air artists, potters, and more.
