Putman Arts Leader Lecture Series
The Metropolitan Museum of Art recently installed a historic stained-glass window designed by Tiffany Studios. The commissioning, designing, and crafting of the three-part Garden Landscape window (1912) was a process undertaken by a fully female cast of artists and philanthropists, a rare occurrence then as now.
Join Alice Cooney Frelinghuysen, from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as she shares the story behind this magnificent piece, from the designer Agnes Northrup and her work with the Tiffany Girls to the connection to American Impressionism and women in the garden movement.
