The Metropolitan Museum of Art recently installed a historic stained-glass window designed by Tiffany Studios. The commissioning, designing, and crafting of the three-part Garden Landscape window (1912) was a process undertaken by a fully female cast of artists and philanthropists, a rare occurrence then as now. Join Alice Cooney Frelinghuysen, from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as she shares the story behind this magnificent piece, from the designer Agnes Northrup and her work with the Tiffany Girls to the connection to American Impressionism and women in the garden movement.

Across art history, gold has long represented what is sacred and precious. Drawing from this symbolism, Lisa Naples’ most recent group of abstract and animal sculptures are literally and metaphorically grounded in this material. With either two chimney-like openings or two rabbits facing towards or away from one another, these sculptures communicate not only the wide range of human experiences lived within and outside one’s self but also the common dignity that lies underneath each expression.

Free Art Exhibit- Feelings of Home- Hui-yi Kuo
For the month of June works by Hui-yi Kuo will be on view. Hui-yi Kuo’s assists us in transporting to a pleasant and whimsical realm by way of her art work. By anthropomorphizing adorable bunnies amidst oversized flora and tranquil tea times it is impossible not to immediately feel lighthearted and happy-go-lucky. Gestures of serenity and affection often embody the imagery and concepts as Kuo taps into a portrayal of self through allegory and childhood memories.

The James A. Michener Art Museum is pleased to present Judith Schaechter: Super/Natural on view in our Beans Gallery from April 12, 2025 – September 14, 2025. This will be the first public exhibition of glass artist Judith Schaechter’s newest, monumental work: an immersive stained glass dome, also titled Super/Natural, that explores the idea of biophilia, the human tendency to connect with nature.

The Wilder Museum will host Best Fest! on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 11 AM – 5 PM. Admission to the museum will be free all day—but the fun only begins there. Vendors will sell their crafts and wares on the museum lawn. The Allegheny Jammers will regale visitors with music in the “old time” tradition of Scotland, Ireland, and Appalachia. The DAR will host a children’s coloring/drawing contest to celebrate America’s upcoming 250th birthday.
