Hawley, PA
Region: Pocono Mountains
Hawley is situated near Lake Wallenpaupack, Pennsylvania's third-largest artificial lake, making it an ideal destination for boaters, anglers, swimmers, and water-skiers. Santa shows up every Winterfest when the town comes together for caroling, holiday shows, and live performances. This Pocono Mountains town owes its beginnings to coal: when the Delaware and Hudson Canal opened in 1828, the coal began moving through Hawley on its way to New York, and the town grew. Visitors today can enjoy the Victorian architecture, antiquing, and cultural events.
