And no road trip is complete without a tasty snack or two. Stop at these roadside farm stands to fill the car with local flavors and give the journey a few delicious detours.
1. Risser-Marvel Farm Market & Corn Maze
Annville
Located on Route 322, also known as Horseshoe Pike, the Risser-Marvel Farm Market & Corn Maze features fruits and vegetables grown on more than 40 acres. At the stand you’ll find tasty treats, as well as a variety of jarred goods, including preserves and honey. Save room for all sorts of scrumptious baked goods, including 11 flavors of whoopie pies.
2. Dilly’s at Centre Bridge

Right at the junction of Routes 32 and 263 in the heart of Bucks County lies Dilly's. Plan to arrive hungry and enjoy towering burgers, hot dogs, fries, and other classic American eats at this old-fashioned walk-up window. Seeking something sweet? Enjoy one of its many flavors of soft-serve ice cream or a creamy milkshake.
3. Smittie’s Pretzel Products

Cruising your way along Route 74 in northern York County? A stop at Smittie's Pretzel Products for freshly baked, hand-rolled pretzels should be on your must-visit list. Open since 1934, Smittie’s bakes its pretzels in an authentic 200-year-old stone-hearth oven. After picking up your salty snack, wend your way to Gifford Pinchot State Park or Roundtop Mountain Resort for breathtaking fall foliage views.
4. Al’s Melons Farm Market and Greenhouse

If you’re exploring the back roads of Crawford County, get your pumpkin fix at Al's Melons Farm Market and Greenhouse at the junction of historic U.S. Route 6 and Route 618. Take a stroll through its corn maze while sipping on some locally made apple cider. Afterward, hop on a wagon ride before grabbing some fresh produce and taking home the perfect pumpkin.
5. Pletcher’s Farm Market

Located along State Road 4001 in the Laurel Highlands, Pletcher's Farm Market is a must-visit for farm-fresh produce, flowers, locally made goods, fall mums, and pumpkins. For a picture-perfect moment, check out the giant pumpkin display on-site each fall.
6. Mountain View Acres Plants and Produce

As you continue your Laurel Highlands fall foliage tour, take a short detour off Routes 31 and 711 to Mountain View Acres Plants and Produce. This family-owned business sells affordable plants and produce grown locally using environmentally friendly practices.
7. Countryside Road-Stand
Ronks
Take a scenic drive through miles of beautiful farmland vistas in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country to find the Countryside Road-Stand. Near Route 772 and Newport Road, this Amish-owned store sells homemade crafts and food, including noodles and apple butter. Pick up a handmade pretzel and pair it with homemade birch beer or root beer.
8. Banty Rooster
Lewisburg
About halfway between Lewisburg and Mifflinburg along Route 45, Banty Rooster serves farm-to-table meals using its own produce. Afterward, amble through the market, where you’ll find an extensive selection of farm-picked, orchard-grown, and vine-ripened goods. Keep the fall fun going with a corn maze and hayrides to the pumpkin patch.
9. Lewisburg Farmers Market
Lewisburg
When in the Susquehanna River Valley, head to the Lewisburg Farmers Market. This longstanding market that is open on Wednesdays all year long features more than 100 local vendors selling farm-fresh produce, meat, dairy, home-baked goods, and more. They even sell a selection of handpicked flowers, perfect for fall decorating.
10. Dries Orchards
Sunbury and Paxinos
Dries Orchards has been serving up fresh fruit at the junction of Routes 4019 and 4022 for more than 65 years. Stop in its orchard shop for fresh produce along with jams, teas, honey, cider, baked goods, and candy. Don’t leave without the homemade apple cider, made fresh from apples pressed using the traditional old plate method.
11. Jack Bell’s Meat & Poultry

No need to worry about dinner during a scenic drive along Route 6 in north-central Pennsylvania. Drop into Jack Bell’s Meat & Poultry to pick up just about everything you need to enjoy a great meal when you get home. The shop offers an amazing assortment of sausages, fresh-cut meats, cheeses, dips, and canned goods. Pick up an assortment of “Grillers,” freshly cut and prepared meals. The only work left is cooking them.
12. Willauer Farm
Quakertown
A quick detour onto John Fries Highway leads to Willauer Farm, where the family has farmed for four generations. The farm is best known among locals for producing raw honey. Stop by its full-size storefront to shop a large selection of Black Angus beef.
13. Duda’s Farm Market
Brownsville, with farm stands in Uniontown, Belle Vernon, Chalk Hill, Washington, and West Mifflin
Swing by Duda’s Farm Market when tooling along the scenic farmland roads of southwestern Pennsylvania. Located just off Route 166, the original roadside stand has grown into a freestanding market selling fresh produce and peppers ranging from mild to hot. Try its Super Sweet Corn, a longtime customer favorite.
