The National Scenic Byway travels through several states, including Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana. This road was the nation's first federally funded interstate highway. When it opened, it provided the nation with a corridor for the movement of goods and people traveling west. Today, visitors experience a part of America’s culture - including classic inns, motels, tollhouses, and diners that trace 200 years of American history.
