Authentically furnished 1860s log cabin, site of historic Civil War shoot out. The one-acre property includes log cabin, period shed containing wagon, sleigh, carriage and thrashing machine. Bloody Knox: Troops marched from Philipsburg to Knox Township in search of Civil War deserters and draft dodgers. They surrounded the Tom Adams' log cabin at this site and requested their surrender. Deserter Adams fired and killed Union soldier Edgar Reed. Shots were fired killing Adams. Eighteen men were arrested that night at this place.
