Families now have an exciting new way to introduce their 4th and 5th graders to Pennsylvania’s incredible outdoor recreation opportunities, including skiing and snowboarding at some of the Commonwealth's best resorts. The Pennsylvania Outdoor Adventure Pass, launched by the Pennsylvania Outdoor Recreation Association (PORA), is an affordable, year-round program designed to get kids active, healthy, and excited about outdoor adventures across Pennsylvania.
What is the Pennsylvania Outdoor Adventure Pass?
The Adventure Pass is a $69 annual membership that gives 4th and 5th graders access to special offers at outdoor recreation providers throughout Pennsylvania, from ski resorts to caves, water sports to rock climbing, and so much more. Valid for a full year (September through August), the pass opens doors to countless experiences that promote physical health, mental wellbeing, and a lifetime love of the outdoors.
Unlike traditional pass programs limited to a single season or activity, the Adventure Pass celebrates Pennsylvania's diverse outdoor recreation landscape year-round. This means families can ski and snowboard at top Pennsylvania resorts throughout the winter season, then transition to summer activities like whitewater rafting, mountain biking, zip-lining, and cave exploration.
Why Choose the Adventure Pass?
Promote Health & Wellness: Skiing and snowboarding are excellent winter activities for children, burning significant calories while building strength, balance, and coordination. Outdoor activities have also been shown to improve mood, reduce stress, and support overall mental health in children and families.
Affordable Family Fun: At just $69 for a full year of access, the Adventure Pass makes outdoor recreation accessible to families across Pennsylvania. When you factor in the multiple skiing opportunities alone, the pass pays for itself quickly.
Discover New Adventures: The Adventure Pass encourages families to explore beyond their usual activities: visit new ski resorts, try a sport you've never experienced, or discover hidden gems in your own backyard. With offerings across Pennsylvania, there's always something new to explore.
Build Family Connections: Whether you're carving down a ski slope, paddling down a river, or exploring a cave, the Adventure Pass creates opportunities for meaningful family time and lasting memories.
