SPECIALTY WORKSHOP/ 2025 John Britt Glaze Workshop July 18-20
Are you ready to become a glaze explorer? Are you wishing that the glazes on your pots made your soul sing and enhanced your work? Do you want to understand why they work the way they do? Join us for a 3-day Glaze Workshop with a true master in the field of ceramics -John Britt. We will discuss all things glazes, including a general overview of ceramic glazes, focusing on but not limited to cone 6 glazes. He’ll also have glazed pots for viewing. We will discuss temperature, kilns, and firing dynamics. John will share information about different firing cycles.

We are happy to have the 2020 INTERNATIONAL BLUEGRASS MUSIC ASSOCIATION MOMENTUM BAND AWARD FINALIST return to Wildflower this summer. Bridging the divide between traditional bluegrass played by the Del McCoury Band and the Lonesome River Band and progressive bluegrass done by the Punch Brothers and Billy Strings, Colebrook Road creates new enthusiasts for bluegrass while expanding the definition of the genre. Colebrook Road is made up of Jesse Eisenbise, Jeff Campbell, Wade Yankey, Joe McAnulty and Mark Rast.

Nichelle Lewis, a 24 year old Virginia native, recently starred as Sarah in the acclaimed Ragtime at City Center. Her Broadway performance as Dorothy in the revival of The Wiz earned a 2024 Theater World Award for Outstanding Broadway Debut. Her previous credits include Little Shop of Horrors and the national tours of Hairspray and Labelless. FREE COMMUNITY EVENT – The Sherman Theater presents the 18th annual Labor Day Festival on Saturday, August 30th from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM! Craft, retail, food and beverage vendors will line the sidewalks on Main Street from 5th to 9th Street, featuring a food court in Courthouse Square, complementing dozens of eclectic shops and restaurants downtown. There will be live music at multiple stages throughout the day, and lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy!
