LOVERS OF WISDOM! The Community Philosophy Circle is honored to launch its Symposium Speaker Series with featured speaker Dr. Jamie Phillips, Professor of Philosophy at PennWest Clarion. His talk will explore Aristotelian ethics and the theory of the meaning of life through the lens of Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics.
DR. PHILLIPS is one of the region’s most respected philosophy educators. Now, he brings his insight to our town for a special evening at the National Transit Building in Oil City, PA.

Barber Beast on the Bay 2025
Barber Beast on the Bay returns for its 12th (and FINAL!) year on September 6 at Presque Isle State Park. No more could’ve, would’ve, should’ve: conquer the 10-mile course on different terrain and water with more than 30 obstacles now or never.
The Beast also features a 1-mile adapted course that shares a finish line with the 10-mile course, so everyone completes the Beast and celebrates their victory together!

Designed to highlight elite competition and provide teams with a high-quality experience, the Tip-Off Classic serves as a platform for athletes to showcase their skills and prepare for the upcoming season. The event offers multiple games across three days and is organized to promote sportsmanship, competitive excellence, and the continued growth of women’s collegiate basketball.
