Join the Community Philosophy Circle on July 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Oil City YMCA (7 Petroleum St., Oil City, PA). This is a monthly in-person philosophy discussion group in NWPA. We come together to explore the human experience, share ideas, and connect! Simply put—it’s a space for ideas! Each gathering begins with a short 15-minute intro to the evening’s topic, followed by open discussion. It’s free to attend and open to all. Guests are encouraged to bring a kid-friendly, non-perishable food item to support the YMCA.

SLOBBERFEST July 12th 2025 is a day of slobbery fun for a good cause! This year's theme is "Sailing on a Sea of Slobber"...PIRATE Bassets... Cause Bassets steal your heart! Starting at 11am, we have raffles and games for you and your Basset (or well-behaved, friendly other breeds of Dog). We also have amazing Carnival games for people with cool prizes, games for your dog to compete in to win, held in the big tent, including a must-see costume contest! Our Raffle tables have something for everyone! You can have your dog create art at our Pawcaso booth.

The spirit of Scotland will come alive in Edinboro, Pa., as PennWest Edinboro hosts its 31st annual Highland Games & Scottish Festival. This vibrant, multi-day celebration of Scottish culture will feature world-class musicians, Celtic vendors, traditional Scottish foods, athletic feats, and family-friendly fun across campus. The festivities kick off Friday evening with a public fiddle workshop and regional qualifier competition in the Frank G. Pogue Student Center. Saturday’s main events begin at 8:30 a.m.
