The Del Satins were one of the premier vocal groups in the early 1960s and are most remembered for their harmonies on hit records by Dion and others. They started the group as teenagers in New York City, releasing their first single, “I’ll Pray for You” in 1960. That same year, they took on Laurie Gribble as their manager, signed with Laurie Records, and joined forces with Dion who had left the Belmonts to start a solo career. Their first collaboration with Dion was “Runaround Sue,” an unforgettable number-one smash hit.
