Elk Mountain is one of Pennsylvania’s first commercial ski areas. It is set in the Endless Mountains about a half hour north of Scranton. Elk boasts a 1000-foot vertical drop, 180 skiable acres, 27 trails and a big terrain park. t’s been named the Best Overall Mountain in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels can hone their skills at the Elk Mountain Ski School with over 75 trained instructors.
