The Pennsylvania Gourd Festival is a unique celebration that brings together artists, craftsmen, and enthusiasts from around the US to showcase the versatility and artistic potential of gourds. Our festival aims to promote the arts and crafts community in Pennsylvania, particularly those working with gourds as a medium. The festival also provides a platform for artists to showcase their talent and connect with a wider audience, educates the public about the cultural and artistic significance of gourds through workshops, demonstrations, and exhibits, and fosters a sense of community among attendees.
We feature a variety of workshops catering to different skill levels taught by a diverse group of instructors invited from across the US. We encourage the public to enter our Gourd Art Competition and Show. Local and regional students and youth groups are invited, and we have competitive classes for finished art and raw gourds. Trained judges from the American Gourd Society assist with this fun competition.
The Pennsylvania Gourd Society is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization whose mission is promoting the use of gourds, growing different varieties and using them in artistic and functional craft by providing a supportive and educational environment for our members and the community.
