First staged in 1936 by the Moscow Philharmonic as a symphony to introduce children to the instruments of the orchestra, today Peter and the Wolf is beloved by children and adults the world over. This classic ballet – interpreted and choreographed by the Academy’s Creative Director Davit Karapetyan – reminds us that to be a hero, one must take risks. For this special performance, the Academy is uniting again with the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra. Audiences of all ages are sure to relish this timeless folk tale brought to life in a unique performance featuring some of the area’s finest ballet students and professional musicians. The evening also features Divertissement – a sampling of short dances from some of ballet’s most enduring works – performed by Academy students.
