Ready to Paddle for Pride?
Welcome to the 2nd annual Paddle for Pride on the Upper Delaware River! We are excited to have you join us on this unique river experience where we celebrate the wonderful diversity of self-identity, self-expression, and the LGBTQA+ community!
What to Expect
This full day paddling trip begins at the Kittatinny Matamoras Base, located at 1147 Delaware Drive, Matamoras, PA 18336. Arrive early to sign in and secure parking. Activities such as face-painting, pride crafts, and more start at 9:00am.
The shuttle that will take us to our launch point will leave no later than 10:45am so please be ready to leave by 10:30am. Before we set off, we will give you life jackets, paddles, and a talk on water safety and paddling basics. Participants will board rafts in groups of no more than six people.
This section of the river is approximately 6 miles and takes an average of 3-4 hours to paddle. It passes through sets of Class I and II rapids. We will have experienced paddlers to guide and support the group, although you can expect to get a little bit wet! As you paddle, take in the beauty of the Upper Delaware River Valley and keep an eye out for herons, eagles, and other wildlife. We expect to finish no later than 4:00pm.
