In this half-day course, we will learn what meditation is, and how it can improve our well-being and quality of life. We will also learn basic meditation technique, including proper posture and how to practice simple breathing and relaxation meditations as well as how to set up a meditation space in our home and support a daily meditation practice. This course is ideal for beginners as well as experienced meditators who would like a refresher course. Julie is a senior teacher and practitioner who has studied Kadampa Buddhism for 15 years and she has engaged in extensive meditation retreat. She is a close disciple of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and a student on the the Teacher Training Program. An executive assistant at an international consulting firm by profession, Julie shows a clear example of how to be a modern, lay Buddhist practitioner in a busy city and presents Buddha’s teachings in an eloquent and inspiring manner.
