A variety of live musical entertainers, skilled crafters, and home-cooked foods are scheduled for the annual Himmel’s Country Festival starting at 7:00 am on Saturday, August 2, at Himmel’s Church Grove, 107 Covered Bridge Road, just off Schwaben Creek Road in Dornsife.
Food will be served all day beginning at 7 am with breakfast, which includes ham, eggs, home fries, fried mush, and more. Lunch starts at 11 am and includes everything from hot dogs to homemade soup, chicken breast sandwiches, haluski, and much more. Our famous Homemade Pot Pie will be served at 1 pm and will be available for dine-in and/or take out in quarts and bowls.
Live musical entertainment begins on the Grove stage at 10 am and ends at 4 pm. Scheduled entertainment includes: Himmel’s Church Choir, Brothers in Grace, Jared & Katie Wehry, Whiskey Shooter, and Brad Crum.
Demonstrators include: Wheel of Light Pottery (featuring a pinch pot workshop), Green Horse Farm (petting zoo), Ham Radio, Wood Carving, Patterns by Paulhamus, Hit-and-Miss Engines, and Hand-Forging Axes and Knives.
You’ll also find a used book sale, fresh baked goods sale, children’s games, a duck derby on the creek, and door prizes. Other major highlights include kettle-made ham and bean soup, kettle-cooked potato chips, homemade pie, and homemade ice cream – all made on-site.
