Utility Work's MakerSpace is proud to present the Fundamentals of Raw Clothing Constructions and Life Skills Workshop Series, led by Netfah Amina- Afia. This six-part course will cover a holistic range of perspectives on our relationship with clothing. From studying the materiality and learning hands-on how to manipulate different materials and fabrics to reflecting on our ecological responsibility and learning actionable steps to become better shepherds of the planet to discussing basic concepts of holistic dress, this course challenges its students to cultivate a slow fashion mindset in a fast fashion world. Each week, students will leave the class with a finished piece. Students are STRONGLY encouraged to sign up for the entire series. If they are unable to, students may sign up for only one of the week’s topics by selecting that week’s tickets.
