April Events and Festivals

We hope the April showers don’t dampen this sweet and sunny month full of celebrations and festivals. It’s the first official month of #SpringItOnPA and we’re giving you a full list of activities to keep you busy. Add these egg-cellent events to your #PABucketList this season.

1. PEEPS in The Village

Tell your peeps about this sweet event hosted in Peddler’s Village. PEEPS in The Village provides a colorful display that includes more than 70 creations of wall art, dioramas, and sculptures. Featuring the #MadeInPA PEEPS bunnies and chicks, all of the items were carefully handmade and contributed by Philadelphia-area residents and organizations. Remember to cast your vote for your favorite when you attend!

2. 5th Annual Philly Theatre Week

3. 31st Annual Boscov Berks Jazz Festival

Jazz it up at the 31st Annual Boscov Berks Jazz Festival! The 10-day extravaganza is every jazz enthusiast’s dream bringing together world-class talent, up-and-coming musicians and a group of fans that can’t stop dancing. This is one music festival experience you won't want to miss!

4. Asbury Woods Maple Festival

5. Find the Easter Bunny Underground

Travel down the rabbit hole to find the one-and-only Easter Bunny at Lincoln Cavern’s Find the Easter Bunny Underground event! Make your way underground and find treats and prizes during your journey. Once you find the Easter Bunny, get a professional photo together to capture the moment.

6. Skirmish’s 39th Anniversary Free Paint

April brings paintball showers! Skirmish Paintball, the world’s largest paintball field in the world, is celebrating its anniversary with the 39th Anniversary Free Paint. Enjoy 200 free paintballs, plus another 100 free if reserved 24 hours in advance. Get splashed with color at this annual event!

7. Linvilla Orchards: Hayrides to Bunnyland

Hop aboard a hayride and journey to Bunnyland! Hayrides to Bunnyland at Linvilla Orchards will take you through the woods to visit the Easter Bunny’s house where you’ll have the chance to meet the Linvilla Easter Bunny. Sample a sweet treat while the Easter Bunny’s friend tells you a story as you explore Bunnyland.

8. Spring Blooms at Longwood Gardens

9. Butler County Home Show

10. Shofuso Cherry Blossom Festival

The Shofuso Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates the first bloom of the region’s Cherry Blossom trees and honors Philadelphia’s traditional and contemporary Japanese connections. Featuring local artists and performers, the Sakura concert series will explore the intersections of Japanese and African American culture through a range of musical performances by multi-ethnic hip hop, jazz, and percussion musicians. Other event festivities include martial arts demonstrations, the Prettiest Pet in Pink Parade, cosplay fashion shows, crafts, and games.

11. Wally Wine Fest

Celebrate spring and make a toast to Wally Wine Fest! The popular Lake Wallenpaupack provides the perfect backdrop for this weekend-long festival held at Silver Birches, a premier resort in the Poconos. The event includes a seated wine tasting featuring scrumptious small plates.

12. Spring 2022 Film Festival

Enjoy 21 days of film when you attend the Spring 2022 Film Festival at the Dietrich Theater. Offering independent, award-winning, foreign, and popular fare, the annual spring film festival allows movie fans to celebrate the art of movie making at this historic site.

13. 2022 Bike & Brew

Come thirsty to ShawneeCraft Brewing Company’s annual Bike and Brew event! Strap in and ride a 16-mile loop that will take you down the McDade Trail and back on River Road. Arrive at your destination to enjoy some well-deserved craft brews, food, and music at ShawneeCraft Brewery.

14. Greater Lehigh Valley Filmmaker Festival

Celebrate film and filmmakers at the 2022 Greater Lehigh Valley Filmmaker Festival! Watch a range of locally directed films then stay tuned when the Best in Show Award is revealed to one winner who will receive a $500 cash prize. Movie buffs will not want to miss this event.

15. Easter On The Rails!

Easter On The Rails!

Choo-choo down the tracks and search for hidden Easter treats at East Broad Top Railroad’s Easter On The Rails event. This one-of-a-kind experience will take you on a one-hour train ride, have you searching for hidden Easter eggs at the railyard for special surprises, and take you on a vintage trolley ride with the Easter Bunny. Kids will be grinning from ear to ear when they receive a gift from the Easter Bunny!

16. Sheep Shearing at Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation

The Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation is hosting an un-baaa-lievable event this spring. At this Sheep Shearing event, visitors will see up close how the plantation’s rare breed of sheep lose their fleece. Staff will explain how to care for sheep, what they eat, and the advantages of various breeds. There will be a chance to learn about other farm animals including horses, oxen, pigs, chickens, geese, ducks, and turkeys.

17. Easter Egg Express

All aboard the Easter Egg Express! Bring your Easter basket and stop by the Stourbridge Line in Honesdale to take a ride on the Bunny Train to a one-of-a-kind Easter Egg hunt! The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures at the egg hunt and kids will get a special gift bag for riding.

18. McClure Bacon Fest

Bacon lovers unite at this epic pork festival. The 6th Annual McClure Bacon Fest is a day full of 120 vendors featuring handmade crafts and delicious bacon. Come on an empty stomach as you will have the chance to munch on treats such as chocolate covered bacon, bacon cheeseburgers, bacon cheese fries, and maple bacon cupcakes.

19. Brookmere’s Adult Easter Egg Hunt

21. Hammer-In Blacksmithing Festival

Watch the past come to life during an amazing, behind-the-scenes historical experience at the only surviving and functional example of our nation's twentieth century evolution from local blacksmith shops to mass production machining facilities. The Hammer-In Blacksmithing Festival will open the doors of the W.A. Young & Sons Foundry and Machine Shop, switch on the machines, and let you watch blacksmiths demonstrate just how this unique machine shop once operated.

23. Jim Thorpe Independent Film Festival

Celebrate five years of film at the fifth annual Jim Thorpe Independent Film Festival (JTIFF). This festival gives defiant, local filmmakers a chance to present their work, shatter convention, and incite spirited debate. Watch the films along with seeing the filmmakers win awards throughout the four-day event. The festival motto is "eyes and minds wide open," and they mean it!

24. Earth Day Festival

It’s an Earth Day celebration at the Academy of Natural Sciences. At this Earth Day Festival, join scientists and sustainability experts for a jampacked night of science programming and hands-on activities to learn more about the Earth and the systems that support it.

25. Hotel Conneaut Music Festival

27. Blue-White Weekend

WE ARE - ready for Blue-White Weekend at Penn State! Watch a weekend full of sports games and matches, including the fan-favorite annual spring football scrimmage ahead of the fall season. This is a weekend to show your Penn State pride and love for everything blue and white.

28. Spring Antique and Collectible Show

Spend a weekend antiquing and shopping collectibles at The Spring Antique and Collectible Show and Sale. Find unique items among the dozens of vendors from across the country selling furniture, glass, coins, books, toys, clothing, and collectibles. On Saturday only, the museum’s re-created 19th century steam-powered circular sawmill will be in operation transporting you back in time. When not browsing the sale, attend one of the additional historic trade demonstrations including a run of the museum’s birch still.

29. Spring Food Truck Festival

30. 75th Annual Pennsylvania Maple Festival

Maple events aren’t just for March. The Meyersdale’s 75th Annual Pennsylvania Maple Festival will have you celebrating spring, the tapping of maple syrup from local area maple trees, and the heritage of the Laurel Highlands area. You will have the opportunity to experience the culture, industry, and commerce as it has evolved over the past 150 years in the area. Gear up for events such as sap demonstrations, concessions, a quilt show, a parade including the Maple Queen winner, and concessions.

31. Penn Relays

33. The Secrets of Fly-Fishing Success

35. Renaissance Jamboree

36. ATV Motocross National Championship
