Finish the final month of summer with more fun at fairs and festivals around the Keystone State. This August, celebrate the last of the warmer weeks with food-filled fairs, film festivals and exciting events that will make your summer soar.

1. The Oval XP

All summer long watch as The Oval XP transforms a public parking lot into Philadelphia’s largest outdoor urban oasis. Locals and visitors alike can enjoy eight acres of food and beverage – including the city’s largest beer garden – art, music and entertainment, wellness experiences, and free special event programming among the season’s sunshine.

2. Bucks County Beach Days: Sand Sculptures in the Village

What’s 12 feet tall and loves to sit on the beach? It’s the Bucks County Beach Days: Sand Sculptures in the Village! The event highlights six massive sand sculptures and two smaller ones created by four world-renowned master sand sculptors. The spectacular sculptures pay homage to the area’s rich history, landmarks, and scenery.

3.  Festival of Fountains at Longwood Gardens

Experience Longwood’s beautiful botanical gardens by day and the magic of luminescent displays by night. During the Festival of Fountains, visitors at night can stroll through Light: Installations by Bruce Munro and catch one of the Illuminated Fountain shows. Be sure to stop at the beer garden for a beverage and to listen to complimentary live music.

4.  BlueCross RiverRink Summerfest on the Delaware River

5. Movie Nights Under the Stars & Stripes

On the first Friday of each month in summer, visitors to Philadelphia’s historic district can enjoy Movie Nights Under the Stars & Stripes at the Betsy Ross House. Arrive before the screening for an after-hours tour of the historic home and make sure to pack your own snacks and drinks.

6. Yenser’s Tree Farm Sunflower Festival

Take your best sunflower selfie at the Sunflower Festival at Yenser’s Tree Farm. See the sunflower fields in full bloom, capture some memories with your camera, and pick your own sunflowers. 7. Maple Lawn Farm’s Sunflower Festival

Hosted by Maple Lawn Farms over the course of several weekends, the Sunflower Festival features more than eight-acres planted with many varieties of these sunshine-filled flowers. Take a wagon ride though the fields, snap photos, and don’t forget to take a flower home with you.

8. Wayne County Fair

A tradition in Honesdale since 1862, the Wayne County Fair attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. Enjoy one of the dozen big-time rides, sing along at a live concert, sit through a firework show, or catch the demolition derby. Everyone in the family will have a must-do activity at this classic county fair!

9. 2022 Huntingdon County Fair

For more than 140 years, the Huntingdon County Fair has been a tradition true to Huntingdon’s history. Known as the premier agricultural exposition in Pennsylvania, the fair features a farm museum in addition to a midway stage, demo derbies, and amusements. Join them to see which fruit of the harvest wins the best of show, or see displays of baked goods, clothing and household items competing at the fair. Stop by in August to see how the fair has continued to welcome the community with its historic allure.

10. Greene County Fair

There is no better place to make summer memories than at Greene County Fair. The annual agricultural fair in Southwestern Pennsylvania features a weeklong schedule of action-packed events, livestock competitions, live music, carnival rides, and your favorite fair foods. Do not miss the crashing of cars during the demolition derby on Friday or the thrill of truck and tractor pulls on Saturday evening!

11. Carbon County Fair

You’ll have more than a fair-ly good time at the Carbon County Fair. This family-oriented fair features agricultural displays, great food, rides, arena events, and musical entertainment. Sign up for one of their competitions to show off any hidden talents you might have from baking and quilt blocking to an antique tractor pull and a cornhole tournament.

12. Mifflin County Youth Fair

A Reedsville summertime favorite event: the Mifflin County Youth Fair. Enjoy the mid-August attractions, mosey into the agricultural exhibits, and watch the fair queen be crowned.

13. Elk County Fair

16. The 60th Annual Philadelphia Folk Festival

Believe it or not, Pennsylvania is home to the longest continuously run outdoor music festival in North America. The 60th Annual Philadelphia Folk Festival features a lineup of more than 40 musical guests for live music on its famous Old Pool Farm stages. Plus, the festival offers folk fans family camping and community-based performers and vendors.

26. New Berlin Day- Outdoor Antique, Arts and Crafts Show

One of the largest street shows in Central PA, New Berlin Day is a can’t miss event for travelers near and far. Musicians will welcome you down the streets of New Berlin, where stands featuring over 125 antique dealers and artists line the road.
