February is the month of love and we are loving all the happenings throughout the state. Grab your special someone or a friend and explore our greater than great outdoors with the endless amount of winter activities. Afterwards, enjoy a wonderful meal at one of the locations offering Valentine’s Day specials. Each event or festival you attend will be sure to make you fall in love with Pennsylvania!

1. Winter Warmups

Glades Pike Winery invites you to take a break from the chilly winter temperatures and warm up your fingers and toes at their Winter Warmups. Spend your Saturday afternoons enjoying some great music with a glass of fine wine and “food truck” food, with beer also available.

2. Farm Tales

Join Pocono Organics for Farm Tales, their free story time sessions, perfect for children ages 3 to 6! Each session explores a different farming theme, followed by related fun activities, games and crafts. Siblings are welcome to join in the fun or spend the time shopping in the market or getting a bite to eat at the café.

3. Great American Outdoor Show

With more than 1,000 exhibitors featuring all things outdoors, including hunting, fishing, camping, and outdoor traditions, the Great American Outdoor Show is the one event outdoor enthusiasts from across the nation look forward to each year. The world’s largest outdoors show features archery competitions, celebrity appearances, seminars, and demonstrations.

4. Second Annual Chocolate Crawl

Calling all chocolate lovers! A weeklong celebration of this iconic food, the 2nd Annual Chocolate Crawl is back! With decadent chocolate treats of all kinds, including truffles, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate infused cookies, chocolate cupcakes, chocolate fondue, and chocolate candies, you will be in chocolate ecstasy. While visiting, be sure to check out all that downtown Clarion’s shops have to offer.

5. Carved in Ice

Meet up with friends and family, enjoy some great food and fun entertainment all why watching ice sculpture artists create amazing art out of multiple blocks of ice at Butler AM Rotary’s 6th annual Carved in Ice. Enjoy adult beverages, delicious food, and entertainment at Friday evening’s “Lights on the Ice,” and music, ice carving, loads of fun activities for the kids, and live entertainment during Saturday’s “Family Fun Day.”

6. Wellsboro Winter Celebration

Shake off those winter blues with a weekend of fun-filled winter activities at the Wellsboro Winter Celebration. There will be ice carving, winter games, winter sales, and the annual Mt. Tom Challenge to see if you have what it takes to climb (or scramble) up 1,100 vertical feet of trail from the Ansonia valley to the summit vista of Mt. Tom and back all within two hours.

7. Batfest


Join Lincoln Caverns and “go batty” during a fun-filled day learning all about bats at Batfest. There will be games, crafts, the chance to observe some hibernating bats in their natural habitat, an introduction to Speleology, and a pizza lunch. Robyn Graboski, a wildlife rehabilitator, will be on hand with her big brown, Betsy.

8. Winterfest at Nemacolin

Ski or snowboard at The Peak, ride the tubing runs, take The Polar Bear Plunge, meet the dogsled team, or compete in the Funky Slopes Style Competition and Out Cold Race at Winterfest at Nemacolin. Reserve a cabana as your base for the day and warm up your fingers and toes beside your own firepit. Don’t forget to pack your swimsuit to enjoy the hot tub and heated, outdoor pool.

9. Hygge Hike

Now that the hustle and bustle of the December holidays are behind, here’s your chance to decompress and get in touch with nature during a two-mile Hygge Hike in the Laurel Mountain area of Forbes State Forest. Hygge (hoo-gah) is the Danish principle, feeling and lifestyle that encompasses wellness, comfort, and coziness and may be just what you need to rejuvenate in winter’s great outdoors.

10. Valentine's Brunch

Looking for something different this Valentine’s Day? Grab your sweetheart or your “galantine” to enjoy a sweet & savory brunch at Brookmere Winery Barn. Bruch includes a mimosa and Bloody Mary bar, chocolate fountain, and a dessert bar which can be enjoyed while listening to live music.

11. Love Gone Sour

If you enjoy sour beer, specifically Made in PA sour beer, visit Shy Bear Brewing for their Love Gone Sour celebration. In addition to Shy Bear Brewing’s sour bear, you will get to sample the sour beer from 10 other breweries from throughout state with 5 ounce pours of 11 beers, with each beer paired with a very specific serving of cheese, candy or savory snack.

12. Sweetheart Snowshoe

Bring along your sweetie for this beginner friendly snowshoe outing in the forest. During the Sweetheart Snowshoe, you will go on a gentle 2.0 to 2.5-mile snowshoe trek through the peaceful and beautiful woods, ending at a local eatery for happy hour.

13. Winterfest '22

Enjoy a fun 53-mile guided ATV trail and road ride through Elk County at Winterfest ’22. The fun family event benefits Trail of Dreams and includes a dinner, bonfire, raffles, and dice rolls.

14. Snowman in the Forest

Enjoy a day of fun-filled winter activities along the picturesque Clarion River at Snowman in the Forest in Cook Forest State Park. There will be carriage rides, sledding, snowman building, ice skating, a snowshoe interpretive hike within the old growth forest, a chili cookoff, and hot chocolate and coffee on hand to help take the chill out. Enjoy a wonderful day with family and friends in the forest’s winter wonderland.

15. WinterFest in Stroudsburg

It’s part scavenger hunt, part mystery, part ice carving extravaganza, and all a celebration of winter at WinterFest. With a theme of “On and Under the Sea,” there will be more than 50 ice sculptures of sea animals throughout downtown Stroudsburg. Look for clues to see if you can figure out who froze the Atlantic Ocean resulting in these amazing ice sculptures, with shops and attractions joining in the fun with special promotions throughout the day.

16. Paint the Mountain Pink

No need to don your pink-tinted glasses because even the snow on Shawnee Mountain is pink during Paint the Mountain Pink. Whether you are a seasoned pro or it's your first time on the slopes, wear something pink and enjoy a day of fun skiing and support the Hope for Strength Breast Cancer Fund. Fun events are scheduled throughout the day, along with pink giveaways.

17. Jim Thorpe Winterfest

The picturesque town of Jim Thorpe serves as the perfect backdrop for the 29th annual Winterfest celebration. Enjoy ice carvings, ice sculpture bars, live entertainment, train rides, horse-drawn carriage rides, food and drink specials, and the famous Mug Walk where participating shops and restaurants hand out sweets, treats, trinkets, novelties, and special discounts.

18. 24th Annual Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Festival

Admire the work of tattoo artists and enjoy live performances at the 24th Annual Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Festival. Stars from both America’s Got Talent and Australia’s Got Talent are set to perform, along with magicians and burlesque dancers.

19. Philly Home & Garden Show

Find fresh inspiration, helpful tips, innovative products, and fantastic deals in remodeling, home improvement, decor, and outdoor spaces with hundreds of experts all under one roof at the Philly Home & Garden Show. With more than 200 exhibitors, three days are almost not enough.

20. Canyon Sled Dog Challenge

While it’s not quite on the scale of Alaska’s Iditarod, here’s your chance to watch sled dogs in action at the Canyon Sled Dog Challenge . Enjoy the thrill of watching this fast-paced sport where teams of 6 to 8 dogs pull sleds down and back in the canyon. New this year is one- and two-dog skijoring, a combination of cross-country skiing and dog sledding.

21. Kennett Winterfest

22. Flamingo Fest

Flock to the National Aviary to celebrate all things flamingo at Flamingo Fest. Put on your prettiest pink accessories and enjoy a fun and engaging story time, get a colorful craft kit to take home, and take in the sights and sounds of the Wetlands during a special flamingo talk.

23. Montour Preserve Maple Sugaring Open Houses

A perfect place to learn all out maple sugaring is Montour Preserve’s sugar shack along the Goose Woods Trail. Here, you can learn about the cultural and natural history of maple sugaring, complete with the opportunity to experience the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of maple sugaring at a Maple Sugaring Open House.

24. 7th Annual Winterfest Live!

Xfinity Live hosts its 7th Annual Winterfest Live! Enjoy unlimited samples of more than 100 beers from more than 75 breweries, live music, and contests. Kick back by an outdoor fire pit and play some games with your friends at this all-you-can-drink event.
