Pennsylvania Wilds

Home to millions of acres of unspoiled forests and mountains, this region seems to be built for fishing, hiking, kayaking and outdoor activities. This is where you'll find a range of sites and activities from the Straub Brewery, with 135 years of serving all-natural beer, to Hyner View Hang Gliding, where you'll see the PA Wilds like few others do. Take some time to check out the Peters J McGovern Little League Museum, where every major league dream begins. You can even try your hand at play-by-play announcing. At the Piper Aviation Museum, you'll learn about aviation's humble beginnings through their vast archive of aircrafts and aircraft equipment. Of course a place called the PA Wilds is going to have some natural attractions. Bring your camera to Bucktail Trail Scenic Byway and you just might catch a shot of some of PA's wildlife. Also, there's Pine Creek Gorge, PA's answer to the Grand Canyon, and the Kinzua Dam in the Allegheny National Forest, a designated Recreational Waterway. The Cherry Spring State Park, with 48 acres of wide-open dark skies, is a haven for astronomers. And the PA Lumber Museum gives you a glimpse into our state's lumberjack past. After an exciting and exhausting trip through the Wilds, you'll be ready for a good night's sleep. Good thing they have plenty of options for you.
