Pennsylvania's only National Forest, the Allegheny National Forest was established in 1923, and it's been providing people the chance to enjoy the Pennsylvania countryside ever since. The forest is approximately 517,000 acres and spans four different counties. The National Forest is open to all and encourages people to visit and see firsthand why the conservation of these lands is important.
