Welcome to the most developed old growth area in the region located at Cook Forest State Park. Hike the Longfellow Trail through old-growth white pine and hemlock and witness the fury Mother Nature unleashed on four acres of timber along the way. There are also five other Forest Cathedral Trails to explore while traversing this area, which is home to the finest eastern white pine in the northeastern U.S. Trees here approach 200 feet in height, 300 to 400 years of age, and three feet in diameter. Take a right when you come to Tomâ€™s Run Trail; it will bring you back to your vehicle. Amenities include parking. restrooms, fountain, camping, and trails of 1.1 miles and .7 miles (Tomâ€™s Run).
Take Exit 78 on Interstate 80. Follow PA Route 36 North 17 miles to SR1015. Follow SR 1015, 0.98 miles, to the Log Cabin Inn and parking area on your right.
