One of the premiere Scandinavian ensembles on the scene today, the Rudersdal Chamber Players will present a program of old and new Danish, Swedish and American music, Thursday April 6th at 6:30pm. With works by Danish masters Carl Nielsen and Poul Ruders; American (and WCM Co-Artistic Director) Andrew Waggoner, with a work based on James Baldwin and commissioned by the Rudersdal Players); and beautiful, deeply personal music from the little-known 19th-century Swedish composer Amanda Meier-Röntgen. Share this bounty with the ensemble BBC Music Magazine describes as “embodying intimacy”, and that Gramophone calls “formidably accomplished”. Weekend of Chamber Music engages the public of the Catskills and the Upper Delaware region directly by bringing transformative performances of, and discussion around, chamber music to a wide variety of venues across the region.
