California Dreamin’ celebrates California songwriters of the 1960s and ‘70s who created the West Coast pop sound that defined an era. In a show created with renowned music director Mary-Mitchell Campbell, Vosk takes us inside the intimate California community that launched a thousand hits and ignited new directions in songwriting. Audiences will be transported to a time when Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, David Crosby, Linda Ronstadt, John Phillips and The Mamas & The Papas, and the Eagles’ Don Henley and Glenn Frey reigned supreme. Chris Dragon, Resident Conductor of the Colorado Symphony, leads world-renowned vocalist Jessica Vosk and the No Name Pops through a carefully curated selection of hits that defined an era and captivated hearts across the globe. California Dreamin’: Jessica Vosk Sings the Songwriters of Laurel Canyon was conceived by Mary-Mitchell Campbell and Jessica Vosk and first produced for orchestra by Colorado Symphony, based on the original production at 92nd Street Y, New York as part of Tisch Music’s Lyrics & Lyricists series.
