One of Heartwood Nursery’s most popular events of the summer is their annual Serviceberry Festival. Learn all about the Serviceberry tree, which is native to the northern hemisphere, tour the groves, and bite into its delicious fruit. The festival also features live performances by Dr. Marc Charisse, the “Professor of Prestidigitation,” and the folk and Celtic music group, the Still Limber Band. 12. 1876 World’s Fair Weekend

13. Pennsylvania State Laurel Festival

Every year in mid-June, Pine Creek Valley celebrates the blooming of the Pennsylvania’s state flower, the Mountain Laurel. 14. Juneteenth Lehigh Valley

On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas with news that the Civil War had ended and all slaves were free. Juneteenth, which is observed on June 19 every year, commemorates this momentous day in U.S. history. Join the week-long celebration of Juneteenth Lehigh Valley at various venues throughout Bethlehem, Easton, and Allentown with flag raising ceremonies, a parade, music, art, and food experiences.

The festival features live cultural stage performances, including contortion and acrobatics.

24. Battle of Gettysburg 160th Anniversary Reenactments and Living History

Travel to historic Gettysburg for two spectacular, three-day Battle of Gettysburg reenactment events, as reenactors of the Union and Confederate armies recreate this pivotal moment in the nation’s history.
