And the winner is...
You sure can pick 'em! The new Pennsylvania bumper sticker is the Dutch Country favorite, "I break for Shoofly Pie." The exciting competition was neck-and neck until the final minutes; the winner barely edged out the runner-up, "Pennsylvania - State of Independence." Thanks are due to everyone who participated and submitted ideas. We'll soon be seeing "I break for Shoofly Pie" on the backs of cars all over the Commonwealth.
How to get yours? It's easy—take your redemption code to any Pennsylvania Welcome Center to pick up your free copy. We emailed you your redemption code when you voted in the contest. Just print it out and hit the road—there's a Welcome Center somewhere near you.

"Break"? Don't you mean "Brake"?
No! Here at the Pennsylvania Tourism Office, we're in the business of encouraging people to take a break. We spelled it that way on purpose, because we want you to slow down, relax, check out the scenery, maybe even stop somewhere for a slice of a regional delicacy. It's that simple.
What the heck is shoofly pie?
If you've never had it, boy, are you missing out! This sticky Pennsylvania Dutch dessert is a "wonderful good" mix of molasses, brown sugar, flour, and shortening. Yeah, it's fattening, but so what. It's not like you're going to have it every day. Next time you're in the Dutch Country Roads region, you should give it a try. If you can't wait, try your hand at making your own with this shoofly pie recipe (.pdf).
Thanks again for participating in the bumper sticker contest. Have fun exploring the State of Independence—in style!
