Destinations in this Roadtrip:

  • James Gettys Hotel
The James Gettys Hotel is located in historic downtown Gettysburg. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it looks as it did in the 1920s, and provides your first taste of living history within history. Upon entering, you will step even further back in time.

Special touches in our guests' rooms include complimentary fresh ground coffees and imported British teas, fine toilet soaps, fresh cut seasonal flowers, additional pillows, plush Egyptian cotton towels, evening turn down service, continental breakfast served in room. Hotel services include area travel and tour arrangements and same day laundry and dry cleaning service, upon request.

  • Rocky Springs Bed & Breakfast
  • Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway
Al Aboard for beautiful train ride through the Lehigh River Valley! For our 16 mile roundtrip, we ride the former mainline of the Jersey Central Lines leaving Jim Thorpe. The line swings onto the former Lehigh Valley main line before passing Glen Onoko. From here the Jersey Central track is long abandoned, and is now the state park trail. Glen Onoko is the south gateway to the park. We follow the winding Lehigh River, rounding curve after curve until we reach Old Penn Haven.
  • The Inn at Jim Thorpe
Each of the 29 rooms at the Inn is elegantly appointed with furnishings reminiscent of the Victorian Age. Our private baths are complete with pedestal sinks and genuine marble floors. Of course, the comforts of home are here as well: air conditioning, remote cable T.V., and telephones. Or spoil yourself in one of our eight world class suites. Here you'll find gorgeous, wrought iron balconies that overlook our historic village. The restaurant offers the finest in classic cuisine. Before dining in our restored Victorian dining room, complete with its original tin ceilings, relax with friends in our authentic Irish Pub. Two fully-equipped conference facilities are also available.
  • Arvgarden Bed & Breakfast
  • The Queen, A Victorian Bed & Breakfast
  • Crowne Plaza Harrisburg Hershey Hotel
The Crowne Plaza Harrisburg Hotel stands in the vibrant heart of Harrisburg where business and pleasure mix in a perfect union, which rivals that in any city. The hotel is in walking distance to Harrisburg's Capital Complex, the Susquehanna River, and the acclaimed Restaurant Row, home to over 30 different Pubs, Clubs and shopping options. Less than 2 miles away you will find the PA Farm Show Complex, the site of annual events including the Sports and Outdoor Show, and PA National Horse Show.
