Destinations in this Roadtrip:

  • Idlewild and SoakZone
  • Carnegie Museum of Natural History
Inside Carnegie Museum of Natural History, you'll discover the Earth! It's one of the six largest natural history museums in the nation, with more than 20 million specimens, objects, and artifacts.

The museum is the world's third-largest repository of dinosaur fossils and contains the world's greatest collection of publicly displayed dinosaur skeletons, as well as one of the foremost collections of gems and minerals.

The museum is both a distinguished research institution, and a dynamic, family-friendly destination. The museum interprets its collections and research for the public through permanent and temporary exhibits, lectures, special events, and educational programs.

For current information, visit the Carnegie Museum of Natural History web site. A variety of unique natural history related products are available in the Natural History Store. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing lunch at the Fossil Fuels snack bar or the Museum Cafe. All groups (with 10 or more people) planning to visit the museum are asked to coordinate their visit through the Group Visits Office. Please call to arrange a group visit.
