Baseball, beer and racing

Start the afternoon on Day 1 with a game at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown from April - August. Watch the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the Triple-A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, race around the bases for a win. Coca-Cola Park has a capacity of 10,000 and includes more than 8,000 fixed seats, four VIP dugout suites and a spacious multi-tiered picnic deck. Food options range from usual ballpark fare such as hot dogs and hamburgers, to roasted corn on the cob and smoked turkey legs.

After the game, head into downtown Allentown for a microbrewed beer at Allentown Brew Worksand a little more nosh from their extensive menu.Two-and-a-half stories of dining and 400 seats, the restaurant includes the Main Bar, the High Gravity dining room and bar, and the Silk Lounge on the lower level. There's even an outdoor dining patio called Der Biergarten, an homage to the area's Pennsylvania Dutch (german) heritage.

Finally, head to Allentown's South Side for a race at Lehigh Valley Grand Prix, an indoor kart racing facility. This curvy and winding quarter-mile roadtrack will test you as you whip around more than 10 turns at speeds of up to 45 mph. Each race is timed at 8-minutes and the average racer squeezes in10-12 laps during thattime. Each lap is timed to the thousandth of a second and all racers receive a detailed time sheet after the race.The racer with the single fastest lap time wins the race. Maximum of 10 racers on the track at once.

Guitars and gambling

Start Day 2 with afree factory tour of The C.F. Martin Guitar Company in Nazareth. See how their world-famous guitars are made. At the end of the tour, visitors can walk through the Martin company museum and gift shop. Allow an hour for the tour plus additional time afterwards for the museum, gift shop and Pickin' Parlor.

Then backtrack a bit to Bethlehem's Southside for an afternoonof gaming at the newSands Casino Resort Bethlehem. Features include 3,000 slot machines, video poker and electronic table games, live nightly entertainment, and dining options including a 24-hour caf, an authentic Irish Pub, Emerils Chop House fine dining restaurant, and a gourmet marketplace featuring a wide selection of cuisines.
