Pennsylvania's only Great Lakes seashore is the site of some of its best wineries. Take a long weekend - wind your way toward the beach and sample the wine along the way. A few nights at some of the region's B and Bs make this a relaxing roadtrip.

Arrowhead Wine Cellars

Your Lake Erie wine tour begins in North East, Pennsylvania, at Arrowhead Wine Cellars. Take a tour of the winery and learn how they make their award-winning wines - then enjoy a complimentary tasting! The winery uses European native and hybrid grapes and fruits to create Riesling, Chambourcin, and other varieties. Unique wine and grape-related gifts are also available. After your tour, you can explore other nearby wineries, go out to dinner, or just settle into your Bed and Breakfast for a quiet evening.

Presque Isle & Penn Shore

>>>>The second day of your Lake Erie wine roadtrip includes stops at two wineries, so we hope you're ready! Presque Isle Wine Cellars is up first, with wines ranging from Gewuerztraminer and Pinot Grigio to Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Presque Isle also produces two varieties of chardonnay with vineyard designations. After a tour and a tasting, shop for home winemaking supplies or head over to Penn Shore Vineyards, one of the first wineries to be established in Pennsylvania. In operation since 1968, the winery features vidal blanc, sparkling wines, and a selection of native American varieties. Take a tour, and enjoy a taste of these lakeshore wines. Then let your designated driver take you out to dinner - or head to your Bed and Breakfast to rest up for Day Three.

Mazza Vineyards

Your Lake Erie wine tour ends with a tour and tasting at Mazza Vineyards, in operation since 1972 and soaked with old-world ambiance. Mazza specializes in German-style wines but also produces a full line of award-winning table and premium varieties of white, red, fruit, and sparkling wines. Take a tour, taste the wines, and shop for wine-themed merchandise. Then, head out to dinner and back to an elegant Bed and Breakfast to relax and reflect.
