Description:
Nature Quest's Elk Trek is the premiere wildlife watching excursion, where we travel deep into the most remote area of the Pennsylvania Wilds, an area teeming with abundant wildlife. Of course, the feature species is the wild and free-ranging elk, but white-tailed deer, bobcats, black bear, coyotes, and many other species present once in a lifetime viewing opportunities every day. This is an extremely scenic landscape with sparkling streams and endless mountains visible from top-of-the world vistas. Your expert guide will explain all about elk life history and management, as well as many other features of the elk habitat and the animals that live there. The guest can tailor this trip to suit your interests and abilities. It can be an extreme wildlife blitz using whatever means of travel is most appropriate (cars, hiking, mountain biking, or canoeing), or a leisurely relaxing experience where you really get a chance to soak in the wonders of nature in a beautiful setting. Using bikes, either agressively or on short level trails will greatly add to the enjoyment and wildlife sightings on this trip. Also, your Elk Trek can be either a single day or multi-day event, where you spend the night in our outfitter-style tent camp with wall tents and cots. This trip can include the velvety black night skies of the Pennsylvania Wilds, campfire cooking hands-on demonstrations of native American and pioneer skills and culture, and many other options.
