Trip to Old Bedford Village
Submitted By: Rose Dube
We took a family vacation to Bedford. We camped out at Shawnee State Park. It was a four generation camping experience. My mother (82) my sister and I (late 50s), my son (34)and his wife and their three daughers (10,8&3). I made little outfits for the girls to dress to see Old Bedford village. We also visited the covered bridges, the 9/11 memorial, Gravity Hill, fish hatchery, and a few other sites. It was very inexpensive. The girls enjoyed Old Bedford the most.
Drake Well Museum

The first time I came to Drake Well Museum a buck crossed the road in front of me and an eagle flew overhead in the sunny sky. Oil Creek and the site were beautiful! Historic oil field machinery sang and people were friendly.

Johnstown Flood Museum
Submitted By: Andy Masich
A historical trip through Pennsylvania also wouldn't be complete without a trip east of Pittsburgh to Johnstown, site of the Johnstown Flood Museum. The museum tells the story of how a neglected dam and relentless storm caused the deaths of more than two thousand people in 1889, leaving thousands homeless and a prospering city—in the words of survivors—"a wasteland." The stories of suffering, sacrifice, and heroism will astound you.
Fallingwater
Submitted By: Ray Wong
Less than two hours away from Pittsburgh is the famous Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece Fallingwater. I love it because it really is awe-inspiring, and it stands the test of time. The architecture is so quintessentially Wright, in perfect harmony with the environment. It would be a perfect place if they rented the rooms or let you stay there to read!
