Let Pennsylvania's historic towns show you the making of America. Throughout history, Pennsylvania has witnessed great turning points, such as the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the Battle of Gettysburg. Business greats have prospered here. People made their fortunes in Pennsylvania, and you can witness the glory days of industries such as lumber, transportation, and steel in towns throughout the state.
Pennsylvania is also a state of firsts. The first commercial oil well. The country's first capital. The American Railroad's first run. In the towns where these events occurred, you'll learn about the importance of freedom and discover the drive for innovation. Come experience the country's heritage.
From authentic artifacts to living history demonstrations, from Victorian mansions to bullet-shaped diners, walk the streets of history in the towns that have lived through it all.

An Evening with Old City Taverns
Submitted By: Larry Court
This past week I enjoy a wonderful experience in my hometown Philadelphia. Me and my wife signed up to go on a historic pub crawl through Old City’s taverns. We had a colonial host who shared historical facts about the traditions of drinking and lead guests in Colonial drinking songs and toasts. We stopped at four places including historical City Tavern there was food and drinks at every stop. I was shocked by how much I enjoyed my evening it was not only historic but tons of fun!
Best Memorial Day ever

The weekend prior we did Jim Thorpe, PA, the coolest little town in the state. For Memorial Day we went to where it all began: Philly! The Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, our beloved Phillies and, of course, a "Whiz Wit" at Pat's. The next day was the amazing Art Museum, and, oh yeah, shocking my girlfriend at LOVE Park!
Drake Well Museum

The first time I came to Drake Well Museum a buck crossed the road in front of me and an eagle flew overhead in the sunny sky. Oil Creek and the site were beautiful! Historic oil field machinery sang and people were friendly.
There are currently no Pennsylvania Roadtrips for this category.
