Heisey Museum tour takes 1 1/2 hours, giving you a glimpse into Clinton County's past. Canal Park, located in the heart of Lock Haven's Historic District, is on the original site of the Bald Eagle Cross-Cut Canal. This was a part of the West Branch Division of the Pennsylvania Canal. The canal served as the connection between the Bald Eagle Creek and the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. Constructed in 1834 and in use until the? Great Flood of 1889 This section of the canal is a permanent monument to the builders and the commerce of the Canal Era in Pennsylvania. A visit to the Heisey Museum, at 362 East Water Street in Lock Haven, will give you insight to the Canal and the Lumbering Era in Lock Haven.
