Food truck & vendor festival with basket raffle, cornhole tournament and games for kids. Live music from two local bands: Abandoned Mind from 3pm to 6pm and Sweet Revenge from 7pm to 10pm. Event will be held at Diligence Fire Co No 1 and Ludlow Park, 114 W Ludlow St, Summit Hill. In the event of rain, the vendors will be moved into the community center attached to the fire company.

The Delaware Valley Ornithological Club (DVOC) hosts author and birder, Kenn Kaufman for a talk and moderated Q&A about his new book, The Birds that Audubon Missed. His talk will focus on the role Philadelphia played in early American ornithology and natural science. Two centuries ago, in spring 1824, three remarkable birdmen met in Philadelphia. George Ord, vice president of the Academy of Natural Sciences, was launching a new edition of Alexander Wilson’s American Ornithology.

Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm Civil War Weekend – The Great Central Sanitary Fair of 2024 During the Civil War, the US Sanitary Commission organized large fairs to raise funds for soldiers’ aid, including the Great Central Sanitary Fair in Philadelphia. To mark the 160th anniversary of this major event, the Peter Wentz Farmstead will be hosting our own version of the fair. The original Sanitary Fair featured 200,000 square feet of vendors showing off anything from fine art to industrial displays.
