Founded in 1895 as the Carnegie Institute, the Music Hall is a part of the 13-acre complex which includes the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and the Carnegie Library.

The Music Hall of the Carnegie Library is patterned after Carnegie Hall in New York City. Opened in 1895, it offers many concerts and lectures each year.
