The Society actively collects and preserves objects made and used by settlers of the area and makes its collections available for viewing and study to interested students and scholars. The society also encourages the preservation of the crafts once practiced in the area through an active apprenticeship/mentor program.
Three events are sponsored by the Society. On the second Sunday in June there is a Strawberry Festival with entertainment and an antique car show.
On the first full weekend in October, there is Heritage Days - the premier cultural festival in north central Pennsylvania. Demonstrations of crafts from the 18th and 19th centuries are combined with music, food and a re-enactment of a Revolutionary War battle. Over 300 volunteers in colonial clothing make this a truly memorable experience for the whole family.
On the second Saturday in December each year, visitors can participate in the beautiful Candlelight Service at the historic (1835) Warrior Run Church.
