The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) is the premier U.S. Army archive and interpretive center for preserving and presenting the story of America's Soldiers.  With an archive and library housing thousands of books, letters, personal papers, photographs and artifacts, the USAHEC tells the story of the U.S. Army and its veterans through exhibits, a research facility and the Army Heritage Trail.  The Center is open Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:45pm.  Expanded weekend hours from April 1 through October 31, are Saturdays 10:00am-4:00pm and Sundays, Noon to 4:00pm.

The latest addition to the USAHEC campus, the Visitor and Education Center, will open in April 2011, and features a 7,000 sq ft exhibit gallery, a museum store and a small café.  The first exhibit to inaugurate the gallery space is entitled, “Civil War Sesquicentennial: 1861,” and examines the first year of the Civil War.
