The Johnstown Area Heritage Association preserves the history of the area through the Johnstown Discovery Network, a linked system of historic districts and attractions that includes the Heritage Discovery Center, the Johnstown Flood Museum, the Johnstown Children's Museum, and the Wagner-Ritter House & Garden. A membership-based, non-profit organization, JAHA offers a wide variety of cultural programming throughout the year, including temporary exhibits, children's programs, the Flood City Music Festival (a 3-day music festival held the first weekend in August), and the Johnstown Film Festival (a film shorts competition in June). In addition, JAHA maintains an extensive archive of photography (especially of the 1889 flood) and other documents and objects of historical significance.
