George Washington's Baptism of Fire at Jumonville marks the anniversary of the event that helped ignite the French and Indian War. The celebration features a seminar with noted authors and historians, a re-enactment of Washington's encounter with the French at Jumonville, and exhibits on the war. Onsite Museum of French and Indian War artifacts and Soldier's Orphan Schoool records are open by appointment, at no charge. Registration is limited to 250 persons plus re-enactors.
