Chester County Historical Society is a vibrant place where people encounter, explore and learn about the past. With diverse audiences and Chester County's unique heritage at its core, Chester County Historical Society is an educational leader in the history community of the Delaware Valley. On Oscar weekend 2015 CCHS opened an exciting exhibit of memorabilia representing more than 160 movies from the mid-1950s to early 1970s. Most of the movies, though, are features from the 1960s. All of it was collected by Steve (Mr. Movie) and Michell Friedman. This private collection is a fascinating and reflective journey into the recent past. This stunning array of posters, press books, toys and other movie memorabilia offer a colorful look into our world of entertainment and social change. Movies are windows into the national psyche. They capture the issues of the day and also reveal how movie-makers influenced the public.
