The Centre County Genealogical Society assists people in researching their ancestry in Central Pennsylvania and in learning about the lives of those ancestors. Volunteers have been reading the cemeteries of the county and twelve books have been published cataloguing more than 100 cemeteries. Monthly programs enhance knowledge about how to do genealogy research and the history of the area and its people. Classes on how to do genealogy are offered periodically. A Quarterly newsletter is also available to members. Two research facilities house resources and both volunteers and professional researchers are available depending on the extent of assistance desired.
