Headquarters of the American Philatelic Society --- serving more than 43,000 members in 110 countries with services including a monthly magazine, The American Philatelist --- the American Philatelic Center in Bellefonte is home to the American Philatelic Research Library. The largest philatelic library in the Western Hemisphere, the APRL holds 25,000 books for stamp collectors, and many other valuable research resources as well. Browse displays, or, if your interest is passionate, become a member of this 121-year-old international society of avid collectors. The APS offers tours of the center and library, which is housed in a converted 19th-century match factory in the heart of this quaint city. See an antique stamp perforator, 19th century post office window, antique stamp boxes, and an assortment of postage vending machines. Whether your interest is antiques or collecting, you will be sure to find some rare treasures at the American Philatelic Center. Visitors are always welcome!
