This hilly course was built in the mountains. There are water hazards and trees coming into play throughout its design. Founded in 1963, Sinking Valley features 18 championship holes measuring 6755 yards from the back tees with a slope rating of 129. The white tees measure 6400 yards and have a slope rating of 128. The course's signature hole is number 17, a 625-yard, par 5, with a double dogleg fairway overlooking a valley. The club began accepting outside play in 1997. Nestled among strands of mature hardwood trees in a peaceful mountain setting, a round of golf here can be confused with a stroll through a nature preserve, but beware of lightning fast bent grass greens and plush bent grass fairways that mean serious business.
