The Scott Arboretum, the 300-plus acre campus of Swarthmore College, exhibits over 4,000 kinds of ornamental plants, displaying the best trees, shrubs, vines, and perennials for the region. The Arboretum's gardens are uniquely set amidst a busy college campus. Our gardens and areas of special interest include: Dean Bond Rose Garden, Winter Garden, Theresa Lang Fragrance Garden, Crum Woods ,and more. Our prominent collections include flowering cherries, conifers, magnolias, maples, lilacs, native azaleas, oaks, tree peonies, witch-hazels, rhododendrons, viburnums, and hollies. The Arboretum grounds are open every day dawn to dusk; admission is free.
